Light and Sound Show

A magnificent demonstration of the convent’s light and sound show is presented every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday starting at 8.30 pm. The show is rich in Mayan history with inspiring lighting and music. The convent setting makes the play of light and sound on its interior unique.

The spectacle consists of the projection of four windows into the archways of the convent through which the splendor of the Mayan culture past and present is portrayed. It is a multimedia presentation combining images, sounds and narration which transport and envelop the public in the grandeur of the Maya. The show starts with a parade of habited monks (actors) who pave the way for the light and sound spectacle.
